COVID-19 INFO

New Update (5/16/2020)

Dear Church family,

During this time, I am reminded of what Paul tells the Corinthians in his second letter to them: “Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves receive from God. For just as we share abundantly in the sufferings of Christ, so also our comfort abounds through Christ.” (2 Corinthians 1:3-6). Our God truly loves us, and knowing who He is brings more comfort than anything else I could think.

We also want to make something very clear; we miss our church family tremendously!! We are thankful for the technology that helps us stay connected, however, these are only temporal things and very limited in what they can do. Every day is a reminder of how important it truly is to “not forsaking our own assembling together…” (Heb. 10:25). We believe our gatherings to not only be “essential,” they are supernatural, as the Lord says “Where two or more are gathered in my name, there I am.” (Mt. 18:20)

On May 4, our governor signed his phased approach to begin re-opening the state and activity. Below, we have attached the chart for you to look at. Practically, we will not be able to open our doors until phase 3 as it is currently. Since there is no time frame on when this will happen, we have no date when phase 3 will begin. Phase 1 is set to end May 31, so long as our governor feels it is safe enough to do so. At that point, phase 2 will begin, in which our governor has already said that it will last for at least 3 weeks. Only at the point our governor feels it is safe will phase 3 commence, and we will be able to open our doors. However, we will only be able to have no more than 50 people present and will be under strict social distancing guidelines.

As the time approaches, we will be writing up our plan of action and guidelines to meet the regulated guidelines for when we gather together in our building. We will share that once we have them available so you will know what to expect when that time comes.

During this time, we will continue to follow our current livestream schedule as well provide other opportunities via “zoom” and other internet based gatherings. Also, due to a recent court case, we have now been given permission to meet 1 on 1 in person for any counseling that is needed. If you feel this is something that you need, please feel free to contact any of our pastors to do so.

As always, any new information will be posted directly to our website and be given during announcement time during our livestreams. If you have questions, you may call the church office at (509) 888-7771 or any of our pastors. May God keep you and bless you during these times. We love you all and miss you all dearly, and pray that we will be together sooner than we anticipate.

NEW UPDATE!!! 4/11/2020

Dear CCFW Family,

We are so blessed by our family in Christ and all the efforts everyone is putting forth to navigate through these days. We have seen many people blessed by the livestream services that are happening every Wednesday night and Sunday morning. Even more than that, most of our groups are continuing to meet via video based apps that have kept us connected and thriving during this time. If anything, the Lord has drawn us near to each other, and most importantly Him during this time. You may empty our church building, but the Church will always remain full. Praise the Lord for that!!!

A few updates for us to consider:
  1. Governor Jay Inslee has extended our “Shelter in place” order until at least May 4. During this time, we will continue to livestream both Wednesday night and Sunday morning. In addition, we will continue to meet in groups via video-based apps such as Zoom, Skype and others. If you have questions of what groups are meeting and what times, feel free to call or email
  2. Governor Inslee has also cancelled the remainder of the school year, so our children will be out of school until at least September. We have posted on our website our childrens’ curriculum for parents to use during this time. There is a section that has a daily devotional that supports the lesson of that week, so please check that out and utilize that resource
  3. Several people have continued to ask about tithing/giving. We do not have an online giving platform as of now, so that won’t be an option right now. You may send through the mail, or if you are driving by, feel free to drop it off in our mailbox which is up near our sign on Baker Ave. The box is locked and secured and is checked several times a week. You may also want to contact your bank to see if other options are available if these don’t work for you.
  4. As far as streaming our services: Remember that we are not the only church in the valley that are live streaming. The amount of traffic on Sunday may interrupt your experience. We will continue to live stream at the same time, however, if you are experiencing difficulties, we want to encourage you that you can go back anytime after noon and watch the complete service without any of the headaches of streaming. If you find this is your experience, then I want to encourage you in following this direction

As always, we continue to look forward to the day we will be able to meet again as a family. If you have any needs, please let us know. We do have a small supply of toilet paper and water if anyone is in need. Please, continue to keep in touch with us and each other, we need one another more than ever now.

    The Lord bless you, and keep you;
The Lord make His face shine on you,
    And be gracious to you;
The Lord lift up His countenance on you,
    And give you peace.

NEW UPDATE!!! 3/24/2020

Dear CCFW family,

The governor has issued a “stay at home” order until April 8, possiibly longer, which effectively shuts down all of our weekly gatherings, including Wednesday nights and Sunday mornings. This issue is effective immediately, so there will be no more gatherings this week until allowed.

As promised, we will continue to livestream our Wednesday night and Sunday morning services. We will also be adding resources to our website for each household to use as we minister to each other and the Lord as individual families. We will be posting a children’s ministry lesson for moms (or dads) to help teach their children. These will be lessons that our Sunday school teachers would be teaching if we were still able to gather. We have our regularly scheduled communion this week, so we will also be posting Pastor John’s teaching for you and your family to take time and share in communion with each other as well.

Also, I have been addressed by a couple people already on using technology as a means of “gatherings”. This could include places like Skype, Google Hangouts, Whatsapp, and so on. We want to encourage people to utilize these as a means of fellowship whenever possible and appropriate.

Finally, we also want to continue encouraging people to limit their use of social media, especially as a means of information. Our recommended source of information during this pandemic is www.cdc.gov. This is where you will find accurate and reliable information. For state and local information, go to www.coronavirus.wa.gov. Again, we highly recommend using these as your resource for information regarding the COVID-19 outbreak and how it will affect you

As always, please visit our website www.ccwenatchee.org for any church information and resources. If you have any questions you can contact either of our pastors at:

3/18/2020

Dear CCFW Family,

We are truly in uncharted and unprecedented times. As the “Corona” virus continues to spread, many are left in fear and panic and very much left in uncertainty. We have never seen a time like this, a time that has created so many to be without jobs and much doubt for the future. I have heard so many say, “This is of Biblical proportions!!” Those who say that, they are correct. Take into consideration 1 Thessalonians 5:1-11:

Now as to the times and the epochs, brethren, you have no need of anything to be written to you. For you yourselves know full well that the day of the Lord will come just like a thief in the night. While they are saying, “Peace and safety!” then destruction will come upon them suddenly like labor pains upon a woman with child, and they will not escape. But you, brethren, are not in darkness, that the day would overtake you like a thief; for you are all sons of light and sons of day. We are not of night nor of darkness; so then let us not sleep as others do, but let us be alert and sober. For those who sleep do their sleeping at night, and those who get drunk get drunk at night. But since we are of the day, let us be sober, having put on the breastplate of faith and love, and as a helmet, the hope of salvation. For God has not destined us for wrath, but for obtaining salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ, who died for us, so that whether we are awake or asleep, we will live together with Him. Therefore encourage one another and build up one another, just as you also are doing.

Paul makes this statement that the day of the Lord will come like a thief in the night. Well, this day we live in certainly came without any warning or expectation for many, but we are not of the night, but of the day. We have been blessed to be going through scripture that speaks of this day, so it should come as no surprise. I want to encourage all of us to stay the course, stay sober, and continue in faith and love, and be encouraged with the HOPE of our salvation. Paul tells us to “encourage one another and build one another up.” This is so important.

I know there have been many questions regarding our church and what we will be doing during this time. Many other churches have indefinitely closed their doors in an effort to encourage social distancing to prevent the spread of this virus. Our leadership is well aware of the different mandates and the various suggested limits on gatherings, and we continue to monitor on a daily basis.
As a pastor, as a shepherd of a flock, these are very difficult days. There are no easy decisions to make as we understand that whatever decision we make will leave some hurt and frustration. Every day, every hour, we continue to seek the Lord and cry out to him for wisdom and guidance for the family we love and cherish…

SO WHAT IS THE PLAN???!!!

There is something about gathering together as christians that is different. It is spiritual. In fact, Jesus says “Where two or more are gathered in my name, there I am!!” Because of that, gathering together with our brothers and sisters is of high importance. However, the government wants us to limit our interaction and has even recommended groups of 10 or less. So during this time, our gathering together will focus more on smaller gatherings, of which we have numerous Bible studies throughout the week, and most of these, if not all, meet that threshold.

We will also be live streaming both our Sunday service and Wednesday night service for the duration of this crisis. If you are wondering how to access those, we will have a link on our website that will take you straight there. As always, the teaching will always be available afterwards as well if you are unable to watch at the time of service.

In light of all this, we WILL continue to keep our doors open until we are mandated to do so. If you cannot watch at home, we will always welcome those who feel compelled to come and join, however, with the highest regard for the appropriate hygiene and respect for limited contact. We are continuously and daily cleaning and sanitizing all critical points of contact. We have shut down our espresso machine but we will still have regular coffee and tea available. In order to minimize contact, we will have coffee (or hot water) poured and handed directly to you. If you aren’t feeling well, then please stay home.

If you have any questions, concerns, or just need to talk, you can contact any of our pastors at the church office at (509)888-7771 from Tuesday-Friday, 9am-noon. Our office will also remain.

We love you all!! We pray that the Lord keeps you and your family safe and healthy. We will also continue to update as needed. Thank you and God Bless
